Moving to Sarasota

When Fiona and I decided to move to Sarasota, we had no idea how difficult the market was.

We were scheduled to see 10 houses, yet when we met the agent only 3 were still on the market – the RE market here moves fast!

That afternoon a house came up on the market in an area we had driven through. I told the agent “book it” – early the next morning I went with the kids to look at the house while Fiona attended an investment seminar in Orlando.

When we left I called Fiona and said, “Lets get this house.”

Back in Wisconsin I saw our “dream list” of what we wanted in a home. We had taped it to our pantry. It was a long, specific list that included “extras” like A rated public school for the kids, caged pool, near water and white fence.

It wasn’t until a month later when we moved in that we compared out list to our new home (and when Fiona saw it for the first time).

There are two houses with fences in their back yard in our subdivision – this house came open the day we were disappointed that we didn’t get the house that we thought we wanted.

We’re 2 blocks from the kids’ A rated school and got the white fence. Any closer to the water and we’d be swimming!

God is ready, willing and able to give you the desires of your heart. It makes a huge difference when you actually define what it is that you desire.

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” Eph 3:20
